On Tuesday April 5, 2011, the BARENS net was opened at 8:00 p.m. on the W1CWA repeater by Net Control K1IN, Don.

Check-ins, including the Net Control Operator were:

  6. K1PAI Roger, Skywarn Liaison, Wethersfield on Commercial Power

  • Repeater – The repeater sounds noisy/scratachy and hearing a pulse noise on the signal.
  • Insurance & Fee – Insurance for BARC activities is being processed and $50 is owed to the State for use of the Talcott Mountain State Park Hueblein Pavillion for Field Day
  • MS Walk – There are enough volunteer operators for this coming Sunday, including 4 NARL volunteers and
  • BARC Volunteers AC1N, AB1LZ and K1PZS.
  • Skywarn – Training is Thursday on 146.79 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and at the Granby Senior Center.
  • Equipment for New Hams – At the last PVRA meeting, Bruce Marcus mentioned again that HTs are available to loan to newly licensed hams, to help them get started.
  • Tech License Training – 25 youngsters are in a training class and are expected to join the PVRA.
  • CT DX Association – The monthly meeting was Wednesday April 6th at ARRL and all were invited to attend.
The net was closed at 8:32 p.m
